Kelsee & Bryan

I asked Bryan, "On a scale of 1-10, how much do you hate having your picture taken?"

Because, if we are being honest, most men are not too keen on the idea of having their pictures taken. Don't roll your eyes at me, it's true! But, because they love the woman telling them that they have no choice in the matter, they do it. Bryan replied with, "Ahhhh, probably a 7 or 8." Well, if that was true, I couldn't tell. Maybe he was just too caught up in admiring his beautiful wife.

I have known Kelsee since we were wee little tots running around on the playground at St. Mary's. Kelsee had some mad jump rope skills and I was always so jealous that she could do all the cool tricks. Uncoordinated and awkward do not make for good jump rope skills. We used to fight over who would marry Justin Timberlake when we grew up and unfortunately, neither of us ended up as Mrs. Timberlake. We had a weird squirrel lovers club with laminated cards (I'm not joking when I tell you that I still have this laminated club member card) and some seriously over-complicated, hard to remember handshakes. Fast forward 20 years and we are here.

Kelsee and Bryan met here in Cheyenne, WY and according to Kelsee, Bryan shot down her romantic idea of star gazing and ice cream as a first date; but Bryan insists she did that all on her own. I still have no idea how the actual first date went down because we were way too busy laughing, but the third date was when the magic started as they sat on the dock and talked for hours. A romantic night in the park ending with the beginning of a love story. Eight months had gone by and Bryan knew he was ready to spend the rest of his life with Kelsee. They enjoyed a nice dinner at Red Lobster and that was when the nerves started to hit Bryan. Kelsee couldn't figure out why he was acting so strange. Maybe it was the lobster?

After dinner, Bryan asked Kelsee if she wanted to go for a walk in the park. During our shoot, Bryan said, "Yeah, she almost didn't let me do it. I asked her if she wanted to go to the park and she told me no!" Well, I get it. You just got done eating this delicious, fancy dinner and now it's time for sweatpants and quality time with the couch, am I right? Somehow, Bryan managed to talk Kelsee into going for that walk (I bet you're glad you caved, huh, Kels??). They made it to the park where Bryan took Kelsee to the dock that they had spent those special moments talking and laughing with each other. This is where Bryan would ask Kelsee to spend the rest of her life with him. (And now I'm thinking we need to go to this dock for our next session!) Laughing, Bryan told me, "I was so nervous, I opened the dang box upside down." It's okay, Bryan, you didn't drop the ring and that's a win in my book! It's the little things like this that make the memories! Obviously, Kelsee said yes and they tied the knot on August 22, 2015. A little more than a year of marriage under their belts and a lifetime to go; I have no doubt in my mind that they have many more years of happiness in their future.

Kelsee and Bryan, thank you for letting me capture the love that you two share. It was truly a pleasure spending that time with you and getting to hear your story. I look forward to being able to capture more of your life together as the years go by.

P.S. Bryan, you wore your man-sweater like a champ! Thanks for taking one for the team!
